Friday I'm In Love

Hi there, hello to Friday and hello to the weekend! I've been hanging out for this weekend actually, I have no idea what I'm going to do this weekend, but sometimes those spontaneous weekends definitely end up being the best!

Today's Friday I'm In Love comes from one of our favourite sites, Moment Junkie. I came across this emotional image by Kat Mervyn a wedding photographer based in Lambeg, Northern Ireland and knew this would be a perfect one to share with you today. I absolutely love the emotion Kat captured in this image, and when I read the reason for the emotion it made perfect sense - the bride's brother was away on deployment and surprised her by returning for her wedding. That is super special, I absolutely know how I'd react too if I was the bride - and it would definitely be a moment for waterproof mascara. If you want to check out some other gorgeous images Kat has taken, be sure to visit her blog! Happy Friday x

Magnolia Rouge Magazine • The Heirloom Issue

I always get excited when the talented Kate Holland announces that the next issue of her Magnolia Rouge magazine has gone live, and this time is no exception! The Heirloom Issue is Magnolia Rouge magazine's third issue and continues the absolute gorgeousness that we saw in the first and second issue. This gorgeous cover shoot below is by the talentend international wedding photographer Ryan Ray, and this issue features work from one of my all time favourite wedding photographers Andria Lindquist (who shot my most favourite EVER 'first look'!). The issue is also cram packed with work by some fabulous NZ photographers, including Greta Kenyon and Fiona Andersen, and don't forget to check out the inspiring lifestyle section on page 199. Enjoy! x

The Original Setting

The clever folk at Naveya and Slone in Auckland have created a fabulous concept called 'The Original Setting'.

It is a brilliant solution for men wanting to propose, but don't want to run the risk of choosing the wrong ring design.

Basically this is how it works. 1. The groom to be chooses the metal (ie. Yellow Gold, White Gold or Platinum) and the perfect diamond (see pic above). He then proposes. She says yes! 2. Then the fun begins, they get to work with Lead Designer, Rachel Sloane, to design the perfect engagement ring. 3. Three weeks or so later, the bespoke and original designed ring is ready to show off in all it's glory. Perfect timing for the engagement party I'd say!

Now, how cool is that???

Jenn + Mo • Michelle Alisa Photography

Hello! I hope you had a lovely weekend, can you believe it's almost Tuesday already? I had a very relaxing one and a sweet day on Sunday catching up with beautiful friends at a christening - I love those weekends that are filled with good things!

Today I've got some gorgeous images to show you from Michelle Alisa Photography. Michelle is an Auckland based new(ish!) addition to the wedding photography scene and started her career in fashion and beauty photography, concepts which she incorporates into her gorgeous wedding photography. You can find out more about Michelle here and it's such perfect timing as if you check out this link you can find information on a wonderful July giveaway of a fabulous wedding photography package Michelle is giving to one of her Facebook friends!

Jenn + Mo got married in February 2013 and decided to have a pre-wedding photo shoot in a soft and romantic boho chic style at two separate locations around Auckland; beautiful Musick Point which is sentimental to the couple and the Botanical Gardens for its gorgeous floral scenery which was perfect with the styling for this shoot. Read more for more of my favourite images of this gorgeous couple! xx

Friday I'm In Love

Happy Friday Folks! I stumbled across this classic picture and just couldn't resist posting it!

It has a fitting title of "Don't corrupt the flower girl" and has been so very popular, doing the rounds on Facebook and Pinterest.

Well done Maria Vincencio for capturing such a fun shot and showing what can really happen on a wedding day.

Just awesome! x

Silver Sparkles

Hello! I hope your Thursday is going great so far, mine has been filled with sparkle love! I absolutely love anything with sparkles, especially silver which brings that gorgeous element of bling to an outfit. Silver sparkles are a popular accent to include in your wedding, whether you go all out and theme your wedding with silver, sparkles and more silver sparkles, or just add a hint of sparkle to any colour theme (I've been seeing a lot of pink and silver teamed together on Pinterest lately, but one of my favourite pairings was silver and coral which looked stunning).

Here is a selection of some of my favourite sparkly inspiration, I actually love the hue of that Dolce & Gabbana grooms suit and how gorgeous is the silver sequin dress at the bottom which would be fabulous on bridesmaids! Enjoy x

1. 4 Tier Silver Petal Cake  2. Bouquet & Sparkle Dress  3. Silver Invitation  4. Sparkly Shoes  5. Chanel Clutch  6. Sequin Dress by Greer G Photography  7. Brooch Bouquet  8. Silver Inspired Drink by Scarlet O'Neill Photography  9. Dolce & Gabbana Suit

Friday I'm In Love

Yay for Friday! I hope your week has been just wonderful and you have something exciting planned for the weekend! Today's Friday I'm In Love is yet another find from my love of getting lost for hours looking at YouTube videos!

This one is a self-proclaimed 'Best Maid of Honour Toast Ever', with a rap twist to Eminem. The videographer fast-forwards through the toast and gets right to the rap; it's definitely worth a listen and must give big-ups to the bridesmaid for getting up in front of the entire wedding and putting her rapping skills to the test! Happy Friday x

More Hello May! Goodness

Ok, so anyone that knows me, knows that I love me some Blue Wedding Shoes so I couldn't resist posting this fab wedding from the folk over at Hello May!

It has all the ingredients for a fabulous wedding, bunting, picnic plankets, lawn games, peonies, hand painted signs, home made favours and a super fun bride and groom!

Sonya and Brad tied the knot in the hinterlands at The Fig Tree Restaurant and Rooms, Byron Bay, Australia. Their day was filled mostly with smiles, laughter and a few happy tears. Sonya has also given some fabulous advice for any upcoming brides and grooms:

“Our advice, for couples planning now, is to welcome assistance from friends and family. My mother and sister put all the favour bags together; our friends and families helped us with all the setting up, and all worked to make our day as easy and smooth-sailing as it could be. Start with the big things–your venue and photographer, for example–and then just have fun filling in the blanks later. Your day will be great no matter the decorations, weather, or colour scheme. We really enjoyed the time we spent working together on such a big, creative project.”

Be sure to check out the full post and pictures here.

Happy days you two lovebirds!

Utterly Engaged • Issue 25

You'll probably know by now that I'm a huge fan of online wedding magazines! I love that they're free to read over and over again, and are a fabulous collection of the best and on-trend inspiration out there in the wedding world. We're lucky enough to have some fabulous wedding magazines based in NZ and Australia, and ever luckier that we can get our fix of even more International inspiration from magazines like Utterly Engaged - the 1st online wedding and bridal magazine!

Utterly Engaged have published their 25th fabulous issue, and it is loaded with 238 pages of gorgeous wedding inspiration. Two of my favourites are the sweet engagement story of Thu + Rich on page 82 - a story of their first date right through to their lovely engagement - and the '5 Do's Of Wedding Dress Shopping With Designer Claire Pettitbone' on page 170 who happens to be one of my favourite bridal designers.

So sit back, grab a cuppa and enjoy pouring over this fabulous online wedding magazine! x
