Happy Friday! How great is it that the weekend is almost here again! For today's Friday I'm In Love we were sent the link to this sweet wedding by Kieran Hodges, brother of the bride, who filmed the wedding along with Jason Wright. The wedding of Sarah + Craig was held at Mission Estate in the Hawkes Bay (one of my favourite NZ food + wine holiday destinations!) and what I love about this film is how it's a true reflection of a NZ wedding, the gorgeous bride and her lovely friends getting ready, the groom and his mates spending the morning together hanging out, the bride getting dressed, the photos before the wedding, the ceremony, the celebration and most importantly the smiles, tears and the friends and family. And how sweet would it be to have your brother film your wedding? - so lovely! x

Good morning! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and managed to stay out of that wild wild weather that swept up the country - Winter is well and truly here isn't it?!
The Wedding Chicks Shop is a US based online store for all things bridal shower and wedding, from favours and invitations to even t-shirts for the groom and his men. What I love about this store is that so many of the products can be customised with names, text and colours to suit your special day. The Wedding Chicks Shop ships to NZ, although it does charge a fee for this, so it would be worth it if you were purchasing a lot of items at once for your wedding. Here's a selection of a few of my favourite items from the store - and how cute is that ring bearer tee as a gift for the wee one!

You are in for a treat for this week's Friday I'm In Love! I have stumbled across this wee gem of a video. It is 8 minutes long...BUT, it is soooooo worth it!
It's not just a marriage proposal, it is THE ultimate in marriage proposals. It takes you on a wonderfully shot and edited story leading up to how they met and a glimpse into what their lives will become as husband and wife.
It took 9 months for this proposal plan to come together and here's the exact words from the wonderful groom-to-be.
It started 9 months earlier when Sandra joined me for a trip to France. When she stepped off the plane, I knew I wanted to marry her. Using that moment as my inspiration, I collected video from vacations, trips and special moments over the next nine months. We then watched the finished film on the roof of the Bowery Hotel, with the Empire State Building as our backdrop. She said yes.
Wow. Now, that's Love!

Hellooooo! It feels like I've been missing in action over the last few days and I just can't believe it's Wednesday night already! I hope wherever in the country you are you've wrapped up warm and got ready for this wild weather on it's way.
Today I thought I'd share a wonderful post from The Pretty Blog. The Pretty Blog is a gorgeous South African based wedding blog and is a fabulous source of international and South African wedding inspiration. The post I'm sharing with you is a styled shoot called 'All that Glitters' and is a mix of pink, gold and champagne wedding inspiration. I'm absolutely in love with the styled stationery for this shoot, my favourite would have to be the gorgeous gold text on the 'you're my very favourite' card and how lovely is the quote on the chair tag 'love is the only gold'! The photography for this shoot was taken by South African Adene Photography and you can check out the rest of this fabulous shoot (and watch an amazing video of this gorgeous couple) on The Pretty Blog. x

Happy Friday! I hope you've got a good weekend planned doing all the things you want to do - I have a weekend planned full of much needed family time so I'm looking forward to that!
Today's Friday I'm In Love is a photo that's recently gone viral and I've seen it already dubbed as 'the best wedding photo ever'! This very cool shot was take by Quinn Miller Photo + Design from Baton Rouge in Louisiana, USA and the couple recently featured on Good Morning America to talk about the Dino who crashed their wedding! I think it's a fabulous fun image and you really couldn't have asked for better reactions from the wedding party - the guy on the far right does a fantastic job! If you want to know more about Quinn Miller Photo + Design or to see some more photos from this gorgeous wedding, check out their Facebook page. x

Another great wedding colour trend popping up in 2013 is Mint. It's subtle enough to be a sweet little shade on it's own, but teamed with ivory and sparkling gold gives it such an air of elegance. By adding other colours like chocolate and antique gold just adds to this dazzling combination and adds a real depth to your theme.
I just love the mint macarons on the gold plate and that chiffon mint gown is just so fabulous. The gold and mint table settings just really have that X factor and just take a look at that show-stopping cake. My new favourite idea for a photobooth backdrop is the ribbon garland, I just love the softness and rustic-ness of it tied to the trees - so whimsical.

Hello! I hope you had a lovely weekend this weekend. I must say mine was pretty relaxing, and I had a wonderful long brunch with a good friend yesterday at a cute wee coffee shop - I actually think going out for breakfast/brunch is one of my favourite times to dine out, although I must say I am definitely a fan of a divine dinner at a fancy restaurant!
When we started The Big Day, I came across Valley and Norfolk Stationery & Styling and have been fan of their gorgeous work so thought it's about time I shared their fab work with you! Valley and Norfolk are a talented team of three (Toni, Olivia & Alex) based in NZ, they have a studio in Auckland city but can definitely design stationery for you no matter where you are. What I love about their designs is their obvious passion for putting a couples ideas and individuality into print, and from their gorgeous portfolio you can view online you can see that no matter what the brief, the result is fantastic! One of my favourites would have to be the stunning invitation above with the addition of those amazing angel wings - but do make sure you read more to see some of my other favourites and check out the Valley and Norfolk portfolio for more gorgeous inspiration. x

After the long wait (a full year after the trailer came out) Gatsby has arrived in the cinemas and I was lucky enough to see it last night.
If you haven't read the book, or know much about The Great Gatsby, it won't really matter. Just to watch the amazing visual extravaganza that Baz Luhrmann has created is enough to carry the entire movie along. I mean, if you think you've seen some parties in your time...you aint been to a Gatsby party! The set design, 20s costumes and the props - Oh.My.God. It's completely surreal and amazing all at once. You just have to see it...and on the big screen. They are also viewing it in 3D, not that I can even imagine what that must be like.
I love a good Baz Luhrmann film and the visual effects and fabulous music score don't disappoint. The acting is mostly good, but I didn't feel the chemistry between the actors that you feel in Romeo and Juliet or Moulin Rouge. But boy does Leonardo DiCaprio put on a pretty good show...and a brilliant party!
I did love how the lines from the book came to life and this one is my favourite: "No amount of fire could challenge the fairytale he had stored up in his heart." - Nick Carraway - The Great Gatsby
Have a great weekend everyone and if you get a chance, be sure to grab some popcorn and head to the cinema. x

Happy Wednesday! I hope your week is going well, I do love these short weeks! Lovely Wedding Magazine, created by the talented Loni (also of Adore Home Magazine) has just published their Winter 2013 issue and this issue is brimming with some very gorgeous Australian wedding inspiration. This edition also features a fantastic fashion section, I love their 'Winter Blues' wedding dresses on page 18 and definitely want to be a guest at a wedding so I can wear one of those fab outfits on page 20 - I especially adore those blue Zimmerman pointed heels!
Grab a cuppa and enjoy having a browse through this gorgeous issue! x

Happy Queens Birthday! I hope you are having a fabulous day today! I have been lucky enough to have a wonderful weekend away with my family, but the end of a long weekend always comes all too soon doesn't it? Adding a pop of colour to your wedding outfit, especially if you are the bride, is still very on trend and if you're game enough to go bold, these gorgeous red heels will give you some inspiration! I love those gorgeous 'Alice' red suede heels and the gold heel on these hot red 'Issy' pumps from Wild Pair.
If you haven't seen last week's Friday I'm In Love, you'll have to take a peek as it's a wedding image of Queen Elizabeth on her wedding day, waving regally from the balcony with Prince Philip. Now I'm not sure what was on trend when they got married in 1947, perhaps some beautiful lace if it could be afforded but I'm sure bold shoes under a white dress definitely didn't feature! I must say though, the Queen really does have a knack for matching outfits and I am sure she has some lovely red heels (perhaps just a touch different to the ones above!) in her wardrobe! x
