A Christchurch Wedding in Stop Motion

Here's a little bit of happy for a Friday! We love this adorable Christchurch Wedding video, captured perfectly by Noelle Williams Photography and all wrapped up in a cute and quirky Stop Motion movie.  Its guaranteed to make you smile, so hit play, sit back and enjoy!

Friday I'm In Love

Wow! Now here is a love story if ever I heard it. Spoiler alert: You will need some tissues!

96 year old Fred Stobaugh has written a gorgeous love song for his late wife Lorraine. He entered an online songwiting competition with his hand penned song that he made in memory of his darling wife of 75 years.

Even though he didn't sing the song or enter a video, the recording studio was so deeply touched by his letter that they produced and recorded the song at no cost.

Watch the video and watch Fred listening to 'her song' for the very first time.

Happy Friday Folks and pass me the tissues please!

More Hello May! Goodness

Ok, so anyone that knows me, knows that I love me some Blue Wedding Shoes so I couldn't resist posting this fab wedding from the folk over at Hello May!

It has all the ingredients for a fabulous wedding, bunting, picnic plankets, lawn games, peonies, hand painted signs, home made favours and a super fun bride and groom!

Sonya and Brad tied the knot in the hinterlands at The Fig Tree Restaurant and Rooms, Byron Bay, Australia. Their day was filled mostly with smiles, laughter and a few happy tears. Sonya has also given some fabulous advice for any upcoming brides and grooms:

“Our advice, for couples planning now, is to welcome assistance from friends and family. My mother and sister put all the favour bags together; our friends and families helped us with all the setting up, and all worked to make our day as easy and smooth-sailing as it could be. Start with the big things–your venue and photographer, for example–and then just have fun filling in the blanks later. Your day will be great no matter the decorations, weather, or colour scheme. We really enjoyed the time we spent working together on such a big, creative project.”

Be sure to check out the full post and pictures here.

Happy days you two lovebirds!

Manja + Jarrod • Piha Wedding by Kate Grewal

Posted on Apr 08 by Ang T

Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was lovely, whatever you got up to. I spent the weekend at home having a catch-up weekend and it was just bliss - I even managed to do some baking and make my favourite poached chicken salad (which takes a lot of prep time!), so it was a very productive weekend all round!

We love bringing you NZ weddings and engagement shoots by the fabulous photographers we have here in NZ, and I'm excited to share this absolutely beautiful one by one of our Professionals on The Big Day, Kate Grewal. I always love it when Kate sends through her work to us as I am always blown away by how amazing her photographs are and her skill of being able to catch love on camera - and this wedding is no exception! There is so much I love about this gorgeous Piha wedding right down to the little things like the blue of the hydrangeas on those pretty table settings, the baby's breath of Manja's bouquet, those fabulous cheese boards, the lace of Manja's Natalie Chan gown, the pretty blue windmills, the duck-egg blue of the wedding cake and even those gold Jimmy Choo's to top it off!

Manja is originally from Denmark and Jarrod is a Kiwi - but they met in Australia!  After four months of travelling back and forth between Australia and New Zealand, Manja relocated to New Zealand, and the rest is history! Congratulations on a beautiful wedding day Manja & Jarrod!

Ketaki + Scott • engagement by Kate Grewal

Posted on Feb 21 by Ang T

Oh my, when the fabulously talented NZ photographer Kate Grewal sent through this engagement shoot, I was overwhelmed not just by these stunning images but also by how gorgeous this couple are and how obviously apparent it is that they adore each other! Kate said this couple was made for each other, through and through, and from seeing these images I couldn't agree more! Sometimes it's such a rare thing to be able to capture love on camera, but Kate has captured this perfectly in these wonderful images. This beautiful engagement shoot of Ketaki + Scott was photographed on the dunes of the North Island's West Coast and Kate is also shooting their wedding in April - I can't wait to see some images from their wedding and will definitely be keeping an eye out on Kate's blog!

Aimee + Andy • beautiful Whangarei wedding by Isabella Harrex

Posted on Dec 11 by Ang T

Well here it is, our first 'The Love' real wedding!  What a privilege it is to have such a beautiful wedding shoot provided by a very lovely photographer (who also loves duck-egg blue by the way!) as our first real wedding.  A friend told us about Dunedin-based Isabella Harrex and as soon as we opened the first image Isabella sent through to us, we were hooked and knew this classically beautiful bride and handsome groom would be perfect for our first 'The Love'.  What we didn't know was how hard it would be for us to select just a few images of their gorgeous wedding to show you!  Isabella shot this wedding in Whangarei at Aimee's parents home, and it was the perfect backdrop for this very pretty wedding.  What makes our hearts sing when we look at these images is how much fun Aimee + Andy are having, their smiles are infectious and we found ourselves smiling too.  We absolutely love how Isabella's images have captured the little details that made this wedding so special and don't you just love those pretty pink and yellow macarons?

We hope you enjoy our first 'The Love' and these beautiful images, and thank you to Aimee + Andy for sharing their big day with us and telling us a little bit about it...
